Research at SRCC

Research is an indispensable part of the sustainability of institutions of eminence. It is not only an important pillar contributing to the human capital development of any nation, but it also plays a vital role in providing strong support for public policy, specifically for a knowledge economy. SRCC has a central vision to be “a College of Global Choice” and a clear mission to “achieve and sustain excellence in teaching and research, and enriching local, national and international communities through our research, the skills of our alumni, and the publishing of academic and educational materials". Hence, in consonance with our vision and mission statement where “research has been considered paramount as one of the keystones of SRCC”, both the faculties and students remain committed to pursuing cutting-edge research across a diversity of various functional domains. To date, our faculty has undertaken research in the diverse areas of economics, finance, management, law, and marketing such as climate change, public policy, public-private partnership, capital structure, corporate governance, work-life balance, foreign direct investment, organizational culture, corporate laws, spirituality, etc. In addition, the research papers written by faculty members have surfaced in prominent academic journals having high impact factors and citation scores. Also, at present, 52 faculty members are actively pursuing Ph.Ds. and there are 9 recognized faculties who are vigorously providing their valuable research inputs to 29 doctoral scholars.

To encourage research and to provide a platform to share the outcome of research efforts by academic fraternity, the institution launched its research journal ‘Business Analyst’  way back in the year 1968;  it publishes  papers in the areas of management, business, economics, finance, corporate  governance etc. To carry forward the legacy of commitment to research and to embrace within its folds the student community and promote and ignite among them a fire to conduct  research and examine issues relevant to fields of business and economics,  the College launched  another research journal  in 2017. The Journal is named ‘Strides’ ; it is  devoted exclusively to the publication of research papers by the students so as  to promote  a sharper research interest  among students. Besides encouraging sharing of ideas and knowledge through research journals, the College conducts Workshops and  Seminars for interactive sharing of and discussion on diverse subjects and topics. To empower researchers,  the College has successfully organized more than thirty workshops and seminars on Research Methodology, in the past five years. Also, the Institution has a ‘Centre for Academic Excellence Scheme for Students’ in place to promote research disposition and excellence in academic quests, wherein students can apply for financial support for participating in, and presenting papers in seminars, workshops, training programmes, debate, youth leadership programmes and participation in the field Trips, industrial visits, educational visits at local, national and international levels.
