• EARN WHILE YOU LEARN SCHEME
To promote student welfare and development and to engage students directly into its administrative framework, the College offers a unique “Earn while Your Learn” scheme. Under the scheme, the College will provide monetary assistance to needy students selected by a due process for working in various College initiatives. The details of the scheme are as follows:
1. This scheme is open for undergraduate students of B. A. (Hons.) Economics and B. Com. (Hons.)
2. A total of six students (two each from 1st, 2nd and 3rd year of the undergraduate courses) are to be selected under this scheme. Out of these six positions, two are reserved for women students and two seats are reserved for SC/ST students. Preference will be given to differently-abled students and children of single parent.
3. The scheme is applicable to students whose family income does not exceed Rs. 6,00,000/- per annum.
4. Students selected under the scheme will be required to work in tasks as assigned to them by the College for a minimum of 12 hours per month for a minimum of five months in an academic year. It will be ensured that no work is assigned during and immediately before the semester examinations.
5. Stipend will be paid for the work put in by the students. The amount of stipend will depend on the number of hours put in by individual students, subject to a maximum of Rs. 4, 800/- per month (Rs. Four thousand and Eight Hundred per month) The selection process of students under the Scheme shall be notified through the College Website and Student Notice Boards. • SCHOLARSHIPS AND FINANCIAL AID
The College provides a large number of scholarships and financial aid to genuinely needy students. The process of availing scholarships is notified via the Announcements Page of the College Website (https://srcc.edu/announcements) and Student Notice Boards. The scholarships/financial aid available in the College are (in alphabetic order):
A. Financial Support from Institution
1. Aabhaas Hajela Memorial Scholarship
1.1. A scholarship of ₹ 25,000 per annum is instituted in the memory of Aabhaas Hajela, a former student of the college from the PwD category, by his father Mr. Vivek Hajela.
1.2. The eligibility Criteria for the Scholarship are:
a. Student must be admitted to the B. Com. (Hons.) course under the PwD category.
b. Scholarship is to be awarded to the overall topper of I, II, III, IV semesters to a student studying in Semester V.
c. In case of a tie in the result, the best 4 marks of class XII will be considered.
2. C. B. Gupta Memorial Scholarship
2.1. One need-cum-merit scholarship of ₹ 12,000/- per annum is awarded to a first year student B.Com (Hons.).
2.2. The family income of the student should not exceed ₹ 6,00,000/- per annum.
2.3. The scholarship is being provided by Smt. Sarla Mittal, daughter of Dr. C. B. Gupta.
3. College Scholarship (Need Based)
3.1. Need-cum-merit scholarships of ₹ 12,000/- per annum are awarded to the economically needy students of B.Com. (Hons.), B. A. (Hons.) Economics and M.Com.
3.2. The family income of the student should not exceed ₹ 6,00,000/- per annum.
3.3. The fund for the scholarships is provided by collection made from students of the College.
4. Envision Scholarship
4.1. The Envision Scholarship of ₹ 18,000/- per annum is awarded to a student of B.Com. (Hons.) III year for securing the highest marks in the second year.
4.2. In case of a tie between students, it will be awarded to one who has secured higher aggregate marks in the preceding qualifying University/Board examination.
4.3. The scholarship is awarded the topper even if the student is in receipt of any other scholarship(s).
4.4. The scholarship is funded by the corpus provided by Envision, a heritage foundation.
5. Kanwar Lal Memorial Scholarship
5.1. One need-cum-merit scholarship of ₹ 12,000/- per annum is awarded to a student of B.Com. (Hons.) or B. A. (Hons.) Economics.
5.2. The scholarship will be awarded to a student of B.Com. (Hons.) or B.A. (Hons.) Economics who secures 60% or more marks in Business Communication or Compulsory Language (English).
5.3. Merit and need have equal weightage.
5.4. The family income of the student should not exceed ₹ 6,00,000/- per annum.
5.5. The scholarship is funded from corpus provided by Shri Ram S. Tarneja.
6. Manoj Kumar Memorial Scholarship
6.1. One need-cum-merit scholarship of ₹ 12,000/- per annum is awarded to a third year student of B.Com. (Hons.).
6.2. Merit will be determined by qualifying marks of 60% in the subjects Microeconomics I and II in the University examinations.
6.3. Merit and need are given equal weightage for selection.
6.4. The family income of the student should not exceed ₹ 6,00,000/- per annum.
7. M. C. Shukla Scholarship
7.1. Two need-cum-merit scholarships of ₹ 12,000 each per annum are available for B.Com (Hons.) II year students securing on an average at least 65% marks in the previous two semester examinations, and having minimum of 75% attendance in the previous year.
7.2. Merit and need are given equal weightage for selection.
7.3. The family income of the student should not exceed ₹ 6,00,000/- per annum.
7.4. The scholarships are funded from the corpus provided by Prof. M.C. Shukla Birthday Celebration Committee.
8. Prem Handa Memorial Scholarship
8.1. One need based scholarship of ₹ 12,000/- per annum is awarded to a III year student of B.Com (Hons.).
8.2. The family income of the student should not exceed ₹ 6,00,000/- per annum.
8.3. The scholarship is funded from the corpus provided by Smt. Harshi Handa in the memory of her husband. Shri Prem Handa.
9. Pt. Kanahya Lal Dayawanti Punj Scholarship
9.1. One need based scholarship of ₹ 12,000/- per annum is awarded to a second year student of B.Com (Hons.).
9.2. The scholarship is funded from the corpus provided by Pt. Kanahya Lal Dayawanti Punj Charitable Society.
10. SRCC Alumni Association Scholarship
10.1. One need-cum-merit scholarship of ₹ 12,000/- per annum for a student of B.Com (Hons.) or B.A. (Hons.) Economics in the first year.
10.2. The scholarship will continue in the second and third year provided the student maintains on an average at least 60% marks in the preceding two semester examinations.
11. SRCC Student’s Union Scholarships
11.1. Two need-cum-merit scholarships of ₹ 12,000/- each per annum for students of second year.
11.2. The scholarships will be awarded to the students of B.Com. (Hons.) and B. A. (Hons.) Economics.
11.3. The family income of the student should not exceed ₹ 6,00,000/- per annum.
12. Students Aid Fund and Fee Concession The objective of the Students Aid Fund is to render financial assistance to needy students towards their tuition fees, cost of text books, hostel/mess expenses, clothing and medical expenses. Forms are available from the College Office, in the first week of August.
13. Sultan Chand Trust Scholarship
13.1. Two scholarships of ₹ 12,000/- each per annum for toppers of I year and II year of B.Com. (Hons.). The scholarships will be awarded to the topper only, even the student is in receipt of any other scholarship(s).
13.2. These scholarships are for second year and third year students only.
14. T. S. Grewal Scholarship
14.1. One need-cum-merit scholarship of ₹ 12,000/- per annum is awarded to a B.Com. (Hons.) II year student who has secured on an average at least 65% marks in the previous two semester examinations.
14.2. Merit and need have equal weightage.
14.3. The family income of the student should not exceed ₹ 6,00,000/- per annum.
14.4. The scholarship is funded from the corpus provided by Shri S. N. P. Punj.
B. Financial Support for other Sources
Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ Foundation Scholarship
i. The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ Foundation, Japan awards scholarship of US $ 420 each to 12 undergraduate students.
ii. The scholarship is merit based and will be awarded to first, second and third year students.
iii. There will be three students from B.Com. (Hons.) and one student from B.A. (Hons.) Economics from each of the three years.
iv. The scholarships will be awarded on the basis of 75 percent of weightage of marks obtained in the previous examinations and performance in interviews having the remaining 25 percent of weightage.
v. The scholarships will be awarded to the students even if they are in receipt of any other scholarship(s).
vi. Students of all categories will be considered for the award of this scholarship. In addition to above mentioned scholarships, from time to time, the College notifies students of other scholarship opportunities through its “Announcements” page.
